Still following your updates here as I finally caved and made an appt for my 2013 LS at an independent shop in a couple weeks to get this looked at and see if they have any new ideas. I realize may have to deal with Chevy anyway even though they tend to screw me over so I'm trying someone else first. Thanks for sharing what you learn...

I’ve interacted with GM, including a letter to David Marsh, the service executive, and to the Technical Assistance Center TAC to state my dissatisfaction. I think no matter who you write to beyond there Customer Assistance Center, it just is forwarded to an Executive Referral team member. Anyway, GM has been no help for service support at this point.
The dealership will keep looking for what they describe as an electrical problem where they will have to check on the circuits and grounds. They said TAC doesn’t have a clue at this point. The dealership general manager said he would discount the labor cost. I responded to him with a lengthy email about my disappointment with the diagnostic work, TAC, and how could a customer authorize an unlimited amount of diagnostic work with no cap and no guarantee anything will be found. I stated that Chevrolet touts their certified service and that TAC “PROVIDES ADVANCED TECHNICAL REPAIR GUIDANCE, RESULTING IN A SUPERIOR CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE”. I noted that everything worked fine when the dealer disconnected the alternator, and when I had the ignition on but the engine not running; that when I pull the radio the HVAC indicator lights don’t blink; and, that the voltage has registered above 15 when I tested it. I add that you’d think that info would indicate something to TAC.
He got back to me quickly, agreed, and said he would contact a GM field manager and go over the matter and will get back to me next week.
If they do nothing, I’d probably ask for them to replace the radio at no additional cost, just to get closure. That is the only part that TAC said to change that wasn’t. If all fails, I’ll put a radio in, look for a good independent shop, etc.

The dealer is suggesting I replace the radio. They will get back to me. In the interim I’ve been researching whether my Camaro is over charging because voltage is at 15 and above and that that could result in radio problems. Forums indicate that voltage read is normal. I’ve read about so many electrical issues like ours that you have to wonder if it is a design flaw.
Anyway, did you get a new radio?

Corakid54,
They replaced the radio and so for so good.
But you can do me a big favor. When you are driving your Camaro, can you look at the information screen and let me know how many volts are displayed. Mine reads 15.2, 15.3 when cruising. The only time it gets in the 14 range is when I turn on the lights and other accessories. I’m not getting a clear indication from other forums if that is normal or overcharging.

I’d appreciate if anyone else could let me know what their running voltage reading is and whether you think voltage over 15 is normal for these Camaros.
I wish I would have checked this when it was new.
