I just fixed mine by cutting the white wire behind the radio, there’s videos all over YouTube on how and which wire. I own a 2013 2LS..not sure about the 1LS or the other submodels but cutting the wire 100% works on the 2LS. My radio/ac/heater/door chime/blinker would randomly flicker on and off, as soon as I would put in a cd it would eject it, loud pops from the speakers..this happened every single time I drove the car. I’ve had not a single issue since I cut the wire. Saved a lot of money just by watching YouTube lol. The video is posted on this guys page: Kjdcomp1

Interesting! Do you recall which white wire, exactly? Wondering if it's this one:

I have the same problem as Jana with my 2013 2LS. Radio, screen, indicator lights, blinker sound, fan, going on and off, speakers crackling. The dealer diagnosed it as the radio control head. They initially thought it was the alternator spiking. The head is on backorder for over a month now. I saw on a forum about cutting the white wire but wasn’t fond of doing that without understanding it. Best I could find is that it controls the blinker. I’m planning on stopping into the dealer to find out where they are getting this part from as well as considering getting a used part and installing myself. Frustrating.

I’m still waiting for the radio control head. The dealer said it is on back order. I still need to check who they are getting the part from because I thought GM wouldn’t supply new parts after 10 years. I took the radio fuse out and started to use the car. The fan AC, blinkers all worked, but no display or blinker sound. I was surprised that the climate control didn’t show on the display because I think there is another fuse just for the display. I was also surprised that I wasn’t getting the on/off cycling of the fan and climate control indicator lights as was happening. I emailed the dealer with the info because I’m still paranoid about them not still getting the problem right.

Dealer replaced the radio/HVAC control head and it didn’t correct the problem. Chevrolet technical assistance center is now saying replace the radio. I did some experimenting and found that when I have the car in accessory mode (when the engine isn’t running) everything works fine. I reported such to the dealer but still waiting for a reply because I held off on the radio because again no guarantee of the work. Let me know if anyone wants detail on anything else regarding this unresolved problem.

No repair yet. I’ve been making TAC support an issue with GM, and asked they continue repairs at GM’s cost. I believe this is a problem for the Camaro LS and they should be able to diagnose it properly. You should contact Chevrolet Customer Service also. If they listen, I’ll pass on my case number to you, and my contact. They called me last week saying they will contact the dealer and get back to me. I also checked with a second local Chevy dealer. The service manager there thinks it can be a ground or the radio, the later spiking when a charge is running through it when the engine is running. He ordered a used radio and said he will replace it for free, to see if that fixes it; obviously to get my future business. I’m to call him later this week.

The service manager and I pulled the radio and plugged in a used one. He said he saw the HVAC indicator lights flashing, so he plugged the original back in. Back to square one.

Also, I did update my case with GM. They said they would get back to me. Since then I forwarded the schematic from this site and the comment about cutting the white wire. I asked the rep to show it to GM TAC and ask for feedback.

Pursuant to another owner’s request with the same problem, I reported the issue to the NHTSA and included my GM case number.
I have another dealer appointment next week where they again will work with GM’s TAC.

The dealer and TAC have determined it is the Body Control Module. There is much detail about this, but the bottom line is it is the forth recommendation, and the first three were wrong. And they don’t guarantee that it will fix the problem. I’m waiting for GM to get back with me on this cost and no guarantee issue. So far GM has not been much help. Anyone with a Gen 5 LS Camaro with similar problems should file a report with the NHTSA.

Did this continue to fix the problem, and did you ever find out what the white wire actually does or does not!

The dealer did further testing and they are now saying it is the body control module BCM. The delay in swapping that out was my interaction with GM to cover the cost. They are not, but the dealer is offering to do the work at the funds I already have into this fiasco.
Once I get confirmation from the dealer on the aforementioned, I ll get it in to get the work done.

I don’t know what the white wire is for. I saw one comment that said it was the flasher switch.

The dealer replaced the BCM today. It did not resolve the problem. Now we have to wait for a response from GM.
