New To Scanner Danner, Im Chris Hobbs from Anderson Indiana
Hey everyone... and hey Paul
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Chris Hobbs. Im from Anderson Indiana. I own and operate a 10,000 square foot 3 bay automotive shop, Hobbs Automotive Diag and Repair. I started out as a lube tech at a chrysler dealer and they put me through schooling. I then became a full time technician turning wrenches flat rate as i was taking classes and learning. I then made my way to Chevrolet and again they allowed me the opportunity to hire on as a full time tech and allow me to take classes. I've been turning wrenches for over 17 years. im 35 now and i'm afraid i simply don't know everything i must know in order for me to get the jobs done in a timely manner. Diagnostics take time and having a solid foundation is what i'm after! Mr. Danner im looking forward to learning. i ordered the book and i signed up for premium. please fill me in on how the classes work. i want to take advantage of every single learning opportunity i can.

Welcome to the forum Chris, thanks for joining.
SD Premium really is the best place to learn the fundamentals of diagnostic troubleshooting.
For me, working through the classroom lectures a couple of times was more beneficial at first than the case studies. Then, as the lectures started to sink in, the case studies made more sense and really helped develop a diagnostic routine. There's a lot of material, so it can seem overwhelming at first
Thanks for the response! I’m truly grateful and really excited about this! Been ASE certified but there’s nothing like having more depth in electrical diagnosis! Especially CAN BUS. And pulse width modulation. I’m looking forward to it all! Paul is a beast! Thanks for all you do man! It means a lot!
