Glad to be on the board!
I am a DIYer since 1988. Prior to then I never opened the hood on my car (then a 1984 Chevy Caprice Wagon), I always went straight to s shop whenever my car needed anything. That was until my car needed a radiator replacement, and there was not enough money in the budget that month to hire the work out. There was just enough money to get a new radiator from Autozone. I set to work with my meager tools I had gotten five years prior as a wedding gift. About 8 hours later I was finished, and back on the road. In the ensuing years I have gotten a bit more efficient, and have done most of the needed work on the 30+ cars and trucks I have owned since then; up to and including engine and transmission swaps.
I am trying to learn as much as I can from ScannerDanner's premium youtube channel and his fantastic book on Engine Performance and Diagnostics. In the past I have been guilty of being a "parts changer", and I want to get away from that. ScannerDanner really shows the way.
Again, I am glad to be a part of the group here!
