Hello to all, My name is Melissa. I own a 2012 Nissan Rogue SV FWD...(AKA.. a nightmare) I have joined in hopes of being educated and diagnosing the Rogue. I have had the car since Dec.2022 and have only been able to drive it maybe 5 months since then. I definitely did not make a good choice when purchasing this car, but the used car salesman was good at being deceitful and I was not very good at seeing the red flags. I have done all of the work on the Rogue myself, due to bad experiences with people taking my cash but not fixing what they were paid to fix and then saying they did. Not only did they keep my money but they also stole parts off of the car. I have had no luck getting any transmission repair shop to even wanting to look at the transmission because it is a cvt. So, with all that said, this is why I am here to learn new things that could help me. I was actually offered a job at a transmission repair shop when I was talking about the cvt and all the knowledge I had about them. Lol... that would have went over well, a woman going into a repair shop telling guys how to do a job on a vehicle!! hahaha
I am going to browse the forums to see if there is any useful information that may be beneficial to my situation. If not then I will post the issues I am having and hopefully someone will be able to help me figure this out so I can wake from the Nissan nightmare! I look forward to chatting in the near future!

Do you have a scan tool that you can command the torque converter on and off? Maybe it’s stuck on when it shouldn’t be engaged?

I only have a cheap OBD that shows codes only. I hooked it up even though the engine light is not on and Po304 showed. The code is cyl 4 misfire. This is odd because it idles and sounds fine. and I had someone hook up an OBDII and with that no codes showed. I am starting to think the car is cursed! LOL
