Hello guys. My names Thomas, Ive been in the automotive field for 4 years now. I got into the field through one of my automotive teachers at school who owns a shop specializing in Mercedes Benz. I'm still a part time student at a community college working towards my associates in automotive technology and a minor in diagnostics. I'm ASE certified tech in general maintenance and light repair, suspension/steering, brakes, electrical and engine repair. I'm Bosch certified tech in electrical, passenger car diesel (TDI) and EVAP. Ford certified in brakes, suspension/steering and electrical. Now your thinking how did you get Ford certs? FoMoCo came to our community college and invited any student to take a test out exam 3 Ford cert tests. While working at my current employer Ive become the BMW tech. The other techs all worked on Benz and hate working on BMW so i was the one getting the BMW work and i found to love them. The reason i joined this form and Paul's premium channel is because I'm tired of being like the rest of the techs here that base diag off past failure patterns or just by guessing or shooting the parts canon. I wanna be able to have logical and definitive answer to whats the problem and what needs to be replaced. I love learning this stuff, specially getting into using the labscope as one of my top diag tools. I hope to be able to help anyone on here and also learning from you all.
