Both sensors were cracked but why? Were they overtorqued or was it thermal? Was there possibly a small impact? Would it be good to have checked the rear impact sensors? Thanks.

According to most people commenting on the video, the issue is where the sensors are located (below the rad core support where water will sit. Water then seeps in between the threads and the aluminum sleeve and when it freezes it expands and cracks the housing. A suggested fix was to use RTV on the threads of the bolt on installation.

Here's the video for anyone following.
I've seen these sensors fail even without obvious signs of damage.
I kind of like the RTV idea on the bolts, I use silicon sealant for all kinds of stuff.

I saw the comments about using RTV on the bolts. One even suggested filling the ferrule in the new sensor with RTV to completely eliminate water intrusion? I kinda liked that idea.

But seriously, this was a cool video. B) Love to see what's going on behind the scenes on sensors like this. I was always told NEVER to use a volt meter on airbag circuits, but I've done it myself and never blown anything up.

Also, I really like the transparent overlays!
I'd like to see more of this in the future.
Is that your pop up car port in the video, or Pete's? I've been thinking about getting one.

Thanks guys! I have to be careful with the transparent overlays, as to when to use them and when to not. It is super cool though isn't it?

Oh yeah duh.
I think we got that off of Amazon for less than $100. It's awesome for rain or sun for my camera and for me of course.
