Chapter 4, 12-21 at 24:00 - Fuel pump amps was created by JLWFLORIDA
While watching Chapter 4, pages 12-21 at about 24:00, Mr Danner states that he doesn't need to check the fuel pump or crawl under the car because he knows it is bad because of the 5.5 amp draw. My question is, what should the amp draw have been? What is normal? What is too high?

If the Power or Ground was bad, the pump would not be able to draw 5.5 amps of current. It would be much less. Seeing 5.5 amps of current tells us that the Power and Ground are good. Knowing that the power and ground are good, puts the blame on the pump. On average, I like to see 6 - 8 amps on a fuel pump, give or take.
