1) barometric pressure. Key on engine off MAP value represents baro, which may also be updated at wide open throttle since this condition also equates to no vacuum in the intake, otherwise known as atmospheric pressure.

2)VAF or vane air flow meter. When air is no longer entering the engine, the VAF closes and breaks the control circuit for the fuel pump relay.

That is an outdated system. I've only encountered 2. Both early '90s Mitsubishi Eclipse.
