2017 Ford Focus ST 2.0 turbo, slight hesitation on acceleration, no CEL was created by Mechanic 350
To the big guns of the room, I changed spark plugs. Old plugs looked good. I would like to use my vantage pro to see spark line and see coil and spark event on my scope. The problem is I don't know who to make the connections so that I can see the ignition events at work one at a time. Can someone guide me in the right direction. DIY HERE, NOT PROFESSIONAL Please also note the settings I need on the scope. thanks

These are 3-wire Coils. So, you won't be able to access Primary Voltage. You will need a
Secondary Wand
to view Secondary Ignition. To view Secondary Ignition with a wand, simply, lay the wand on top of the coil. Set the scope probe to "Test Lead- Volts DC". Set the voltage scale at about 5 volts, to start with. Depending on the strength of the signal, you may have to increase, or decrease that. (Decreasing the voltage scale will make the Ignition event appear larger.) Set a time sweep of about 50-100 ms, per screen to start with. You can add more time to see more events. Or, less time to see more detail. Once you see an ignition event, you can set a trigger to stabilize it.
To view Coil Current, you will need a Low Current Probe . (The probe in this link has BNC connection. The Vantage uses Banana Plugs.) To view the coil current, clamp the amp probe around either the coil Power wire. Or, the Coil ground wire. Align the arrow with the direction of conventional theory current flow. Set your Scope probe to "Low amps 20". Set the amp scale to 20 amps, to start with. Using a lower amp scale (i.e. 10 amp) will make the current ramp larger.

Wow thanks Chad I’ll let you know my findings based on the info you provided me. Btw, I do have an amp probe. What I have to purchase is that wand you mentioned from aes wave.

This
is the wand that I recommend. I have some of the more expensive ones. But, this is the one that works the best, in my opinion. And, it is the cheapest. It, also, has a plug-wire clamp.
