Working on a 2011 golf with P0016 : E0 Camshaft position correlation bank 1 Sensor A and P000A :60 "a" Camshaft position slow response (VAG Can Pro). Th codes are only set in cold weather. I changed the cam sensor for a used one from the shelf and it worked until temperature went below freezing and the code set again on startup. I suspect it has to do with the 20Kmile /30000KM oil changes and it makes the oil not get to the chain tensioner or the variable cam control fast enough because of contamination, No oil pressure or oil quality sensor messages though.

The car has been in 2 front end collisions but been working fine since the last accident this summer before the tempratures crept below feezing.

Any ideas. I really wish they dont have to send it to the dealer unless it's still under warranty (100000Km aparently on these engine issues) I don't have a shop where I can do involved work like cam chains and head work.

This may be related to oil viscosity, make sure it`s the right one.

They service the car at VW with a mobility warranty so I do hope they have the right oil. But I also know for a fact that some times the oil isnt changed event though it should be and maybe the buildup in the oil causes a slight viscosity change enough to affect the very delicate passages in the cam control for example.
