I am working on a 1993 Jeep Larado 4.0. The engine quit running and would not restart. It has around 200K miles. Owner replaced the crank sensor, distributor, plugs, coil and wires. Still no start.
We found a voltage drop at the ASD relay when cycling the key. When key is turned on it registers 12 volts to the activated ASD relay. within a few seconds the voltage drops to 6 volts, disengaging the relay. The injectors and coil have 6 volts. Removing the ASD relay and the injectors and the coil still show 6 volts. Connecting a spark tester to the coil wire shows a weak, consistent spark. connecting the coil wire to the distributor we have no spark coming from any plug wire. From the condition of the plugs, it appears the the injectors are not pulsing either.
The wiring diagram shows a ballast resistor but it could not be located.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Which model Jeep? I'm pretty sure the XJ, YJ and ZJ were all available with the 4.0 and Laredo trim around that time.
