Daihatsu Boon speedometer not working was created by Desmond6004
This is a weird one, it's a 2007 Toyota Passo which is actually a re-badged Daihatsu Boon.
The odometer ticks over but the speedometer does not move.
There is one fault code in the EPS: C1541 "vehicle speed signal"
It has had two used instrument clusters fitted. Then we sent away the original one for testing and we were told there
is nothing wrong with it. I am told the speedometer gets its signal from the ABS. The ABS module shows there is a "Meter
speed signal" which changes with vehicle speed. The A/T module has its own speed signal and shows a vehicle speed signal as well.
If the odometer shows changing distance than surely the cluster is getting a signal - unless the ABs transmits the changing distance.
When the ignition is turned on the needle does a little 'dip' and raise showing the motor has control of it.
I don't have any wiring diagrams either so not sure where to go next. '

This morning I took it for a drive and suddenly it couldn't change gear.
Fault codes in ECU: U0156 "lost comm A/T receive"
U0101 "comm with A/T send"
U0156 "comm with speedo meter receive"
and in the A/T U0100 "comm with efi receive".
I also notice that I had a lot of trouble scanning the EFI module and when the cluster is unplugged all
live data in the EFI module falls away. I think the CAN wires to the EFI module rely on the cluster being plugged
in and I have a CANBUS issue.
