Seatbelt pre tensioner fault was created by paul.simpson
Fiat 500 2011 1.2cc
Pre tensioner fault, pops up a dash warning light . Code B0106
Resistance.
Question whats the safe way to test without setting the airbags off .

Disconnect the pre tensioner and put a resistor in the wiring plug and see if the fault code will clear. This will tell you if your wiring and ecu are OK
Normally are about 2-3 ohms

Hi Steve done this , fault light came back , resistor measure 3.1 ohms.

Based on the fiat it doesnt have side bags has in the roof sides or rear quarters panels or doors but does have bags in the side front seats only.
The driver pretensior is not seen, resistance is at 0 .4 ???
I have used a 300 ohm resistor but it failed to put the air bag light out
Can i safely measure the voltage / current through this circuit once i get a electric diagram.
Air bags scare the shit out me.

Is the fault code for the driver or passenger pretensioner?
A 300 ohm resistor is too high the resistance is normally somewhere between 2.2 - 3 ohms, try one in and see if live data changes
The amount of current will be in the milliamps range and will be difficult to measure
