2011 Nissan Serena C26 with MR20DD Cam/Crank Correlation – Which Cam Edge Should Be Used?
Hey guys,
I have a question about the cam/crank correlation sync mark shown in the service manual compared to a real-world scope capture.I've noticed that the cam teeth in the actual capture are wider than what's shown in the service manual. Because of this, depending on which cam edge is used as the reference (rising or falling), the actual capture could appear to be around 8° retarded. So my question is, which cam edge should we be using to verify the correlation? Is the sync mark in the service manual accurate, or could the difference in cam tooth width lead to an incorrect timing diagnosis?Has anyone come across something similar?I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thanks, guys!

Trust the service info, they drew that line there for a reason. Any perceived difference in the width of a pulse could come down to time base or just the fact that the example in service info is redrawn and not an actual sample of a scope capture.
