Shorted #2 injector wires together while trying to chase a intermittent bad connection. Lot of codes now! All injectors have open circuit codes but it still runs with a miss.
Is the computer toast? If so, can it be repaired? I have another 07', but assume it would still need programming?
Appreciate any guidance please!.
Oops! The computers are pretty robust, but it certainly could have taken out the injector driver for cylinder #2.
Is that the cylinder that is misfiring?
Do the open circuit codes return immediately after clearing them?
Were you chasing injector circuit codes to begin with?
Can you verify there is no injector control on that cylinder? Chrysler will stop activating the injectors on a misfired cylinder so you would need a scope to catch it on start up, or clear the codes and watch the circuit before a po302 sets.
You are correct, assuming you have the correct replacement PCM, it will need programming
Thank you for the reply!
I was chasing an open circuit on #2 but could wiggle the harness near the connector and make the miss come and go.
Was trying to plug into the connector to do more wiggle tests when the short happened. Dumb mistake on my part. Knew better.
Now I have opens on all cylinders but it's running. The codes wouldn't clear. Sent computer to SIA Electronics for repair. $155 if it is repairable.
I still have a bad wire or loose pins.
