If you want to do some scan tool diagnostics first, look at the throttle opening % and MAF g/s at hot idle. If you're dealing with a vacuum leak (torn PCV diaphragm, broken non-return valve), the throttle opening will be nearly zero and the MAF will be significantly less than 1.4 g/s.
If you want to go straight for the common fail, just check the PCV diaphragm port in the valve cover for vacuum. If you find vacuum, follow this PI to check the non-return valve:

@tyler- he is trying to have dealership repair this issue, but they are telling him the problem was permanently resolved after the 2018 Buick encore model year.
Are they referring to a TSB or recall? Or warranty coverage?
If you really do have a LUV engine and the non-return valve in the intake is broken like you noted, then I can't see how there's any question about the problem...

@Tyler the dealership is talking warranty coverage. They may cut a bit of a deal for him. I will keep you all posted when I know. I recommended not Drive it like that for very long.
Sound advice.
Have you or the vehicle owner considered during the work on your own? Aside from getting the vacuum hose off the boost solenoid, it's a pretty straightforward job.
