2013 Ford Focus high voltage was created by bills4065
Just looked at today. 17 volts @idle with the alternator connector disconnected. 13 volts on battery with both cables disconnected.
New battery just installed for this condition I am told. Looking at again tomorrow,  I am thinking another power source somewhere.
Any thoughts?  Thanks all.
Just got thinking about this.I will
Disconnect alternator B+ and see what the result is. I will post what happens.

I have definitely seen these alternators over charge and cause all kinds of weird issues

Thanks Noah-it is the alternator.Threw me off for a bit because with main connector disconnected 17.5 volts. When first checked 17.5 volts at idle that is when I thought I will take alternator out of picture by disconnecting
the alternator. Same voltage lol. Thought this through for a bit and more chapter 1 universal testing methods clicked in. Paul's book and you and people like Tyler make you stop, think about it for a few minutes and it will fall in to place.Again thank you Noah for the chime in.
