2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Front Axle Assembly was created by popoften
Greetings, guys,
As attached pictures show, drivers side spring perch rust and caved in, and the passenger side also has substantial rust. Fortunately the axle cylinders themselves are solid. SO I guess mt questions are:
1) Since the welded-on parts of the spring perches are rusted, is it possible for me to hire someone to weld on new perches/brackets (assuming new perches/brackets are even available)? Or would it make more sense for me to get a used replacement axle assembly from somewhere, such as LKQ?
2) Axle shaft boot on drivers side has pulled loose. Apparently clamp let go. I figure it is probably best to go ahead and replace axle shafts and axle seals assuming I reuse this axle assembly.
3) Any other insights, tips, and tricks you guys might have, I'm all ears!

I remember that being a pretty common failure on those. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point there was new parts available. I would say that if you can find a replacement perch, it shouldn't be very difficult to weld them to the differential. I wouldn't hesitate to make them out of the scrap metal pile if it was my 20+ year old Jeep.
Thats how I fixed my wife's Pilot in 2023, not apples to apples, but don't be scared to get in there start welding stuff.
