Hello working on diagnosing a 2013 F-150. It has a no start, no communication issue, it has had the motor removed twice for a rear main seal and intermittently will have no coms and weird clicking of various engine valves and fuel pump beat boxing w/ koeo.
I thought I fixed it previously after swapping bcm & Pcm no change put old modules back in then cleaned all grounds I could see and issues went away.. but it came back after a year same problem.
I just tested the pcm connector and found 10.7v ground on the scope at B+ engine run wires, traced to that to fuse block then to wire coming from COP power supply wire that is spliced to all 6 coils. Goes away with all coils unplugged and communication restored.

also OL to positive and 4 mohm using pos lead 25mohm using neg lead to ground on the circuit.. tried using a scope a wiggling harness but no definitive spots move the waveform...

Tell me what engine this is, and I will post a wiring schematic.

I think this is a symptom of low voltage, or a bad ground. Since the engine has been removed, take a close look at the engine ground(s). Make sure that they are clean and tight.intermittently will have no coms and weird clicking of various engine valves and fuel pump beat boxing w/ koeo.
I don't understand what you are saying, here. Can you clarify this, please? Are you saying that you found 10.7 volts on a ground wire? If so, that is your problem.I just tested the pcm connector and found 10.7v ground on the scope at B+ engine run wires

I have the schematics, I was saying I found ground voltage on the positive wire. But now it’s worse because I fixed it and don’t know why by unplugging the cops and coms issues left won’t come back.
Also engine has no detectable issues but self test engine running gives p1703, p1780 so now I’ll chase down why those come up only on the self test screen. I cleaned checked every ground I could, even added a body and engine ground but it was unplugging the cops that fixed the coms.
