2008 Dodge Avenger p0760 on old ecm and p0755 on new ecm was created by Snosrapy
OK where do I begin. This is my daughters car and and been playing some games.
Orginally she was driving in cruise on the hwy and bang redline and into llimp mode. I met up with her and found we had 2nd gear. Drove home. Got home reset all codes which had a p0700,p0760 Started and then drove fine... Later that day tried again right to limp mode. Reset all codes ( same ones) and now right to limp mode.
Had a shift solenoid assembly replaced a year ago... but now I ordered another... then ordered a ecm from MAKS and registered to my vin. Then ordered a used tipm with same part# off ebay.
Replaced the shift solenoid nothing..... new ecm replaced instantly no longer p0760 and now a p0750 replaced the tipm now got a p0755.
I check for resistance on the solenoids.. all ready 1.6 ohms and on control side about 250-300 ohms. confirmed on both solenoids to the be same. Started checking all solenoids confirmed continuity from solenoid to pcm.
Out of frustration replaced ecm back to old one. reset all. Car works... Drove down the highway to get gas approx 10 miles. shifted perfect. got gas bang limp mode. had to take back roads attempted 3x to reset all still instant limp mode. Just before home reset all codes again works perfect. Drove a bit shut engine off restart perfect, raced around perfect parked on a hill parked on a downgrade perfect. brought home shut it off restart 10 min later limp mode.
As a side note the instant i check back to p0760 on old ecm and p0755 on new.
Trans fluid and filter replaced about a week ago didnt help
Im so lost im just a DIY'r im almost stuck throwing this away and givng my daughter my car and have to buy another... as we live outside the city... we need this car running
Any ideas is a help.
I do have access to WITECH 2 and JSCAN so i already reflashed the pcm and everything checks out just when i put into gear instant limp mode

There are several engine options for this year avenger. Without knowing which one you have, I just guessed the first option listed.
According to service information, these codes can set not only for a circuit issue or solenoid fault, but also in response to a gear ratio error.
There is a chance that you may have a pin fitting issue at the TCM or on transmission body itself, but to be perfectly honest, considering the testing you've done all ready and the parts you have changed, if this was in my shop I would recommend transmission rebuilding or replacement.

Im currently on the hunt for another car but what i found.... I have purchased 2 valve body solenoids and new replacement ecm. when i install the old ecm i get a p0760 and new ecm p0755 i have check both solenoids for continuity all read good... but the wierd part is when I reattach the connector to the solenoid body.. i get continuity on 4 other pins from the same wire... its like its grounding out internally.. but i just bought it.. and older one is a year old... car isnt worth any more $$

Here, is a video that did not make the cut for ScannerDanner Premium but, if you have access to a labscope, maybe you will find some useful information in it.
