2015 Fiesta ST No Keys & Comm Error was created by bl3nd3r
Hi everyone,
I have spent the last few days going over Paul's diagnostic videos along with a few other videos have found online, however, I still have a hurdle.
I have a 2015 Ford Fiesta ST with a 1.6L turbo engine that is currently showing a no comm on the OBD port. One of the challenges I have run into when diagnosing this, is that the vehicle currently has no associated keys and I cannot get it into accessory mode.
I do believe there is either a wire that is damaged or a sensor that is faulty, as the vehicle has been in an accident.
I have used a fuse tester and all fuses check out. For next steps, I am trying to test the 5v reference circuits, but without keys and being able to putt the car into accessory mode, the ECU/ECM will not power up and startup the reference circuit.
One thought I had was to bridge the contacts on the PCM power relay to power up the system, but not sure this is the right next step.
Does anyone have any recommendations on how to move forward with this? Unless I am able to comm restored, I am unable to program new keys for this vehicle.

The Dealership can give you a key, based off of the VIN #.

Unfortunately this car only has a push button start and they made no allowance to start the vehicle with a key (it only works for opening the doors).

I spent some time working on it tonight after watching the Benz video Paul had put out. I ended up jumping the PCM power relay which helped energize a few things, but still having that Comm error.
I will take a look at things for the push button start tomorrow. Thanks for all your help!

I spoke to the dealership today and they made it seem that in order to get comm you need their dealer specific computers. They said they shouldn't have any problems getting new keys programed.
I am personally a little skeptical about this (given I need to tow my car over), so I am planning to head over there tomorrow to look at how a normal fiesta behaves without a key when I hook up my scanner.
