Hi guy's,have this mazda6 send to me from another shop, had the car for 20 minutes today, problem car got towed to other shop for failed alternator, they replaced the alternator but now the car as a fishbite misfire on acceleration and very light on idle barely noticed, drive test the car to confirmed complaint OK.first thing I did checking a/c ripple on alternated notice a big glitch once in a while .a/c about 450 MV,what I did disconnected alt bat post and drive the car ,and all the misfire gone and fishbite, car ran good, told that to the owner of the other garage and he refuse to replace new alternator, car should come back tomorrow, for further testing, now I'm questioning my finds, any ideas
I would replace the alternator. If the problem wasn't there before the alt was changed and the misfire goes away when you disconnect it, the problem I think has to be the alternator. If you have a scope you might be able to prove it by hooking up to the alternator and a coil control wire and see if the voltage spike occurs at same time as the misfire
