Help us help you. By posting the year, make, model and engine near the beginning of your help request, followed by the symptoms (no start, high idle, misfire etc.) Along with any prevalent Diagnostic Trouble Codes, aka DTCs, other forum members will be able to help you get to a solution more quickly and easily!
Since the check engine light does not come on with key on, here is a video that you can follow to resolve your issue. You just need a wire diagram showing you the 5v ref wire or wires, powers and grounds to the pcm (communication lines).
Ok I entered it in manually tried to scan the ecm but it failed, but my battery was starting to lose juice so I’ll get a charger on it and try again tmrw after work. What scans do I want to try after I get the battery charged up?

Try for a system scan first and let it pull codes from every module on the vehicle.
If that doesn't work, go for the main players on the high speed bus. ECM, TCM, BCM, EBCM.
