2012 Equinox stalling was created by fahead32
Morning group,
I have read the other post in the forum about a next 12' Equinox with similar issue, I inherited a Equinox that had codes for exhaust camshaft actuator, Fuel pressure regulator proformance and misfire errors.I took the vehicle on a test drive and it would drive resonably well for about ten to fifteen minutes and it would start to surge and stall but if you put it in nueutral or restart it would start up no issue until time pass again. While logging the data stream , the low fuel pressure would be steady at 45 to 58 psi while acting but the HPFP would max at 2000 0r 2100 psi at the time car would stall but as I stated it would be normal after restart.
The previous technician changed timing chain , non OEM cam phazers and also an oil change
I replaced the HPFP , ECU and O2 sensor lower and now the fuel trims are in operational range but the vehicle still stalls . The timing was checked an found to be correct

I think it's easier to post videos to an external host and just put the link here.
Check the solenoids to be sure the screens are not jammed up with debris.

That video is quite long....
Did you check the oil control solenoids to see if they function or if the screens a plugged with debris?
This would neatly explain the stalling and cam timing codes.

Sorry for the length but the problem is not consistant with when it would surge. The solenoid are clean and the oil is clean also .
A quick query , can the the fuel regulator on the rail give this kind of issue specially with the fuel surging at 2000 psi at times?
