Wondering if anyone here has any tips to a resolution on this. Was working on a 2011 Lexus GS350 that had some power window issues after both driver side doors were replaced at a the body shop. The car had been moved around with various door wiring disconnected and the battery had also gone dead. The body shop was attempting to figure out why the windows wouldn't work and connected their Snap-On Modis Ultra to the vehicle and scanned all the modules for codes. Once the scan was complete, there were a couple of codes for the windows and one engine code that likely had to do with the low battery. The tech cleared all the codes with the scan tool. After clearing the codes the airbag light came on with B1650 in the Occupancy Detection Module.
That's when I was called up to come diagnose it. My diagnosis lead to a bad ODS module caused by the Snap-On scan tool all codes clear function. See the diag.net link below. I don't yet have a Pro account at diag.net so I can't see all the replies but a Google search will bring up lots of hits on this topic. diag.net/msg/m1cgjxxvnwfho964ndt02zkkd8
I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on how to fix this. From what I've read we either need a new or used module and do the zero point calibration. I also found some videos of one guy who used the ECU Replacement option in Techstream to write the data from a used module back into the original module and repaired it that way. I have access to an Autel Maxisys Elite II Pro which has that option in it (I've not tried it yet) and am going to try that if I can find a used module part number 89952-0W051 or 89952-0W052. A new one is almost $600 our cost. Just wondering if there are any other tricks to repairing this that anyone is aware of.
Thanks,
John

Moderators: Please move this to the Repair forum. Somehow I managed to get it into the wrong forum.
Thanks! JC
edit: I see it's moved. Thanks!

I got it, no worries!
Have you tried the Zero Point Calibration? If not, I'd try that first before module replacement. Aftermarket scan tools 'undoing' Toyota/Lexus Zero Point Calibrations is a pretty common thing, in my experience. I just had it happen to me last week with an SC430 and a TopDon. Something about the all module code scan/code clear that really upsets them.
