A diode can never replace a transistor.

Assuming is never a good thing.

Yes my idea was probably not very good and I can't attest to its longterm reliability. I can't promise the current PCM won't crap out sooner or later so on second thought it's better to replace the computer.

I really appreciate the help. I guess I'll have to find a computer or repair place and see if it changes everything. Once I do I'll post the outcome. Thanks again.

Update: finally was able to find an ecm. Couldn't find one from the junk yard. I purchased one from flagship. It works but I have ran into another issue. On my ECM I was missing a pin & on the harness of cables I'm missing the end pin from one cable. The red/white stripe cable. To finish the job I need the metal end to crimp on cable? Not sure what the end piece is called? If you can guide me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. I'll add some pics. Thanks for all the help. I'm finally starting to see the finish line?

Update: replaced ECM and the pin on red/white cable. I found the pins on eBay. I'll add the picture of what I found and worked from eBay. Thanks you for the help hope this helps othersĀ
