I have this ram with oil pressure gauge dropping to zero, at first start its in the middle after about ten minutes it drops to zero. I put a pressure gauge on it and it read's 20 psi at startup then drops to 10 psi still think that's OK but them after ten min it's down to 6 psi
He had the engine rebuild in February of this year he took back to them but they say that it's good. I removed the oil pan and found the pickup tube plugged with metal shavings and silicone. I did this before i got a hold of a pressure tester so I don't know if it was reading zero psi before. Question is what should the oil pressure read at idle?
Thank you for your help!

Note: CAUTION: If pressure is ZERO at curb idle, DO NOT run engine at 3000 rpm. 4 psi
@ 3000 rpm 25 - 110 psi
Sounds low, but that's the spec.

Thank you brother for the info. but after letting it sit at idle for 45 min. it did drop to zero. I'm going to have to drop the crank and check the clearance.

I took the engine out and looked at the bearings and found that the bearing spun.

Yep, that'll account for the low oil pressure, as far as I'm concerned. Of course, if one bearing spun, then you have to wonder about the rest of the lower end bearings, too.
These are the times that I really want to build a pressurized tank with engine oil and an adapter to hook up to the oil pressure sender port. That way, I can pressurize the oil system with the pan off, and watch for the bearings that leak worse than others

OK so i'm trying to put this engine together and i'm having problems with the connecting rods at first it was the bearing clearance had to take it back to the machine shop. Now its the side clearance when i torque it down its tight question is am i doing this right. I need to know if the feeler gauge is in the right spot or do i need to check it where the orange handle is .
