[FIXED] Lincoln TC no run condition was created by BroncoMcbane
Greeting and salutations gang! Bronco McBane here of Bronco McBane Fleet Management, Mineola,NY.

I have a problem with a 1995 Lincoln Town Car, 4.6V8, 112,000miles. I get a crank, start but no run. Car will crank, start and after releasing the key the car will stall one second later.
No Immobilizer codes, no ECM codes. I had done a previous diagnostic on it using troubleshootmyvehicle.com, Abraham Torres-Arredondo schematic. After doing that diag. I believe the problem was the CKP, Crank Sensor, because I was getting 0.2-0.3v AC whereas Torres-Arredondo said the CKP should be putting out 0.6-0.7v AC. I replaced the CKP(then immediately following the starter, the original since assembly, failed. So I replaced the starter but I still get the same Crank, Start, no Run condition.

Can someone give me an alternate diag. plan to find the problem?

need spark, fuel, and compression in time to make any engine run. Which one are you missing?

None. The car cranks, starts but does not run. So there is either an input missing or reference signal missing to the PCM to continue the RUN circuit.

Thought about it but these are tied to Immobilizer functions. What would be a lacking RF transponder signal in a GM Pass Key system isnt used in this Ford of the same area.

Additionally there are inputs at the Ignition Control Module that only receive the signal if the Ignition Switch(PIP) is complete. I checked the ICM for all the ins and outs using the other guys diag.

Also, the Ford generation preceding this one used fusible links, so I couls suspect a link was burnt. But these ones use Maxi Fuses for those controls and all were continuous.

I am leading along the edge of a possible dead Cam Position Sensor but I want confirmation and a test schedule first.

Still confused on this car.

Fuel system test:
4 gallons in tank(~1/4)
Fuel pressure at Key On prime is 42psi
Constant light flashing/ beeping on the fuel injector rail(#7 injector)

So fuel system fine

Ignition test:
Using spark plug tester got spark from the coil pack #4
Got battery voltage into and out of the ignition control.module.
So ignition system fine

Checked ignition switch but I get battery voltage on all light green wires powering the PCM(~5 green wires@ the ignition switch). I get a voltage drop around 8-9v on the white with pink wire but that is normal.since its the starter trigger feed. RUN circuit is a brown wire with green stripe. It gives me battery voltage before cranking and after. So the RUN circuit is fine.

The best I can ASSUME is the PCM is not putting out a SP.OUT(spark output) signal to continue spark after car is started. But I cant make a move on that until I can get confirmation somehow. I dont think it is normal for a PCM to fail in these cars.

Have you tried to give it some gas right after it starts to maintain around 3k rpm to see if it continues to run?

Cant give it throttle. It stalls as soon as it starts. Turn the key, car starts. Release key car stalls. Hold key in start mode car will continue to run BUT starter is still engaged.

As I read some chart it said after START the PCM is supposed to control ignition thru its SPOUT parameter. I suspect this is my problem.

The eBay IAC was made of Chinesium.

So I gotta come back in a few weeks when I get back home and get an authentic Motorcraft or AC Delco IAC

I had forgot about this post. I got a new phone and couldnt remember my password for Tapatalk.
Anyway...yes once I got a high quality Idle Air Control solenoid(brand name Hitachi, made in Japan) and reinstalled it the car and it started and ran perfectly after a few choke and dies.
