By posting the year, make, model and engine near the beginning of your help request, followed by the symptoms (no start, high idle, misfire etc.) Along with any prevalent Diagnostic Trouble Codes, aka DTCs, other forum members will be able to help you get to a solution more quickly and easily!
Strange thing happened, connected a scan tool to check for codes, I selected the wrong option and had a communication failure. Then check engine light came on u0001. After reconnecting and selecting the correct option I cleared the code and all is well. Has this happened top anyone?
OBD2 has several different protocols and baud rates things like this can happen if the wrong one is selected. It usually doesn't cause a fault code but often you have disconnect & key off and try again.

Thank you for your response. Yes I selected the wrong protocol I believe. The vehicle came back with the u code an hour later. I cleared it and all is well. Sucks for customer satisfaction but oh well.
