On my 2014 ford flex the charging system light came on the dash and I tried to ignore it but I had no power steering. Then I had intermitant , bumpy power steering.
But I checked the battery and a few cells were low so I filled them. Then very carefully went to O'Reilys and had them check the battery and alternator . Battery was fine , alternator wasn't. Then I checked my little code reader and it read P0625 generator field terminal circuit low.  Is that just basically saying that I have a bad alternator?
or is it somehow different .  I mean why can't they just say that.
I'd also like to know if the replacing part ... do you have to go tearing off all that stuff to change it or can it be done from underneath ? They sure didn't put it in an easy to reach spot. Too , and & also . If I take it to a shop should I bring my own alternator in with or let them get it and whats your best guess as to what it'll cost. Thank you
