I've got a vauxhall zafira which has 20% LTFT and it gradually increases while idling. The short trim would be creeping from 2% to 4% on idle too. Holding the RPM to 3000 makes the long trim fuel reduce to 0% and the short trim increases to 10%.
Now, it looks like a vacuum leak, but if it was then the short trim wont be increasing to 10% right????
The job of the Long Term Fuel Trim is to keep the Short Term Fuel Trim as close to zero, as possible. Long Term + Short Term = TOTAL Fuel Trim.
High Total Fuel Trims that improve with raise RPM's is a classic sign of a vacuum leak.
