Hi guys, I'm writing this post about a 2013 vw jetta tdi 2.0l turbo diesel engine. I'm working on the egr system testing and hoping someone on here has done some testing on these systems and can help me out. When testing the circuit for the egr motors, that's right this engine has two, I've found that with the egr components unplugged and testing koeo the egr motor power and ground when measure to a good ground has a 0v-12v square wave on the ground side and a 5v-12v square wave on the power side. Again testing at the component connector with the component unplugged. Now Mitchell 1 says it should have approximately 12v. Does anyone know if these egr valves are duty cycle controlled with a square wave, controlled by frequency? Or do I have a circuit or ecu problem to look for? When Mitchell says it should be batt voltage and I'm getting this square wave signal on my scope, I can't help but wonder what's going on!? Any help would be appreciated. I've looked at the wiring harness extensively for any issues. Is this square wave normal or should I be searching for another problem? Thank you in advance for your help with this one.
