HEY DANNER,

I'm an experienced mechanic accustomed to fixing everyone else problems - even electrical I'm at the end of my rope

Vehicle:

2002 Pontiac Grand Am
2.2 ECOTEC
My daughter went to start it - it ran super rough and died. upon cranking it would "Kick" but not start.
Towed to my house - I found her oil was very low. I added over 2 quarts.
upon trying to restart - it would still kick but not run.
I found out her roomate changed the plugs
I pulled both the coil pak - and the valve cover.
timing chain is tight - tensioner intact - Cams turn - all valves open and close - no valves or rocker arms are bent or broken
spark plugs had dielectric grease everywhere
I cleaned that gunk off
upon trying to start again - it kicked but didn't start
after more cranking - the engine began to crank with no load sound ... just whizzing - no "Kicking"
I checked fuel pressure - zero - buzzing - but no pressure
checked fuel pump relay - and # 37 AC fuse - both good - changed out fuel pump
now i have 55psi - figured car would start
still "No Load Cranking
Fuel Pressure regulator is not leaking - no gas on vacuum side - don't know about inside it tho ...

OBD II - REPORTS NO CODES OR ERRORS OF ANY KIND

OBD -II - DATA SHOWS:

TIMING: 6 DEGREES
RPM: 178-185 RPM CRANKING
FUEL SYSTEM: OPEN LOOP
BATTERY FULLY CHARGED - JUMPING WITH BIG TRUCK RUNNING TO PREVENT VOLTAGE DROPS
100% FUSES CHECKED AND GOOD IN BOTH DOOR JAMBS - AND UNDER HOOD.

checked Ignition control module per your video - module checks fine for negative flash on test light for 1 & 3 pins - and 2 & 4 pins - center pin fine for voltage - far pin for Cam shows solid ground illumination whether cranking or not - don't know what that means ...

I have no way to check for the square wave / voltage peak relationship ...  no scope

pulled the oil pressure sender pigtail to make sure no oil pressure interruption ... no change

upon key insertion - and turned to run/on position - engine light & security is illuminated on dash with other normal lights - NO FLASHING - just illuminated
Radio works just fine
with key in ignition in forward position - everything chimes and illuminates - theft-lock light on stereo goes out after key is in for a couple seconds

it literally sounds like - "No Fire - No Fuel" .... symptoms ... cranks with no resistance ...

I put a new coil pak on it - no change - but I may try again.
new ECM under dash - no change

would happily send a video through facebook messneger, or my private you tube channel.

I really need help - I've been wrenching professionally for many years - and I'm at a loss. I live in Bend, Oregon
and very, very few ASE / Certified Techs here - and certainly not with quality Electrical experience.

Respectfully,

Pontiac Mike - 541-350-4608
