2000 Mercedes Benz SLK230 ECM programming tool recommendations?
I wasn't sure whether to post this in the diagnostic tool section or the repair question section, but here we go.
I've got a customer with a 2000 SLK 230 Kompressor, and the ECM was damaged by water. I've got a used ECM and plugs coming in, and found a place that offers to make the ecm "Virgin" but I've not found much information on how to program it to the car after that. From what I found it's a Bosch ME2.1 ECM, and possibly can be cloned with K-tag, or others have suggested simply swapping the physical chip from the old ECM. I can get the old ECM to boot up by bypassing the damaged pins, and can read the ECM using autel, though it seems the DAS section of the ECM is damaged, as it will not allow it to crank more than 3 seconds. The board is visibly corroded.
