Hello,

I have a 2016 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel 3.0L with a "crank no start" issue. Engine died on me while driving at low speed, no trouble signs to start with. Towed to local dealership and they could not figure it out. Towed to a local diesel shop they still could not figure it out. Ended up towing it home and started researching this while looking for an electrician- I suspect this is a sensor/electrical issue.
only error I have so far is under ECM:  "P006D-00 Barometric pressure -inlet air pressure correlation"

Here are my questions so far:

1-One of the things that fail on these trucks is the reluctor wheel/crankshaft sensor. The manufacturer has issues a recall ( was applied) in a form of a software patch. Just learned that even with the patch the truck will not start if the reluctor wheel or crankshaft sensor is bad. How do I test this?

2- how do I know it is not the ECM causing this issue?

3-When looking for the ODB connector I discovered a tracking module ( carfinder)  and removed the fuse. This brought something else to mind: not sure if RAM/CHRYSLER have a way to disable vehicle remotely... like Chevy's OnStar. I suspect they do and if that is the case , I would need to rule out the possibility of  someone clicking a button on their end and disabling the start on the vehicle. Usually, the starter gets disabled but that is too obvious. I'd think letting the engine crank and disabling another component would be  the smart way to prevent an engine from running.  Can anyone confirm this is a possibility? If so , will a new ECM resolve this? I found a used ECM from a 2017 ecodiesel and willing to try it

I am looking for some guidance on how to approach this. What to look for/test.... I could not find any electrical diagrams for this vehicle ...
I am able to use a voltmeter and I am using an Autel MaxiCOM MK808S to check ECM/TCM.
