2009 Dodge caliber signal voltage fixed 2.5 was created by w002mia
Hey guys!
The upstream o2 signal wire is stuck at 2.5v whether it’s plugged or unplugged.
i read that it is supposed to be near 5v unplugged.
what are your thoughts ?

So i was thinking maybe i need to buy a scanner and clear the codes to get the voltage to go back up.

Did you check the other oxygen sensor?
Are you talking about scan data or actual voltage measurements at the sensor connection?

Both sensors read same voltage. I will check resistance of both heater elements and report back.

Assuming is never a good thing.

The voltage that you are seeing may be a bias. According to the diagram that I am looking at, the ECM grounds the sensor and powers the heater control. Do you have good ground to the sensor and good feed to the heater from the ECM? Do you have good ground to the heater circuit? Any codes?
Assuming is never a good thing.

I measured the upstream o2 resistance and it was around 100 ohms so I changed it but still would like to see a 5v on signal wire when it’s unplugged. I mentioned it was 2.5 but actually it is 1.6v.
The return wire has 2.5v. I am trying very hard to find something because i don’t want it to be a bad ecu.
I am getting lean code p0171
