You should have power on the violet wire with the ignition on.
And power on the black and white wire in park.
Power on orange in reverse
Power on yellow and green in neutral
Power on green in drive
The violet will always have power regardless of position, but if any two of the others have power at the same time, this code will set.

Then the orange wire is shorted to power or the switch is sending power through when it should not.
How about with the 7.5amp fuse referenced in the diagram removed?

Nice job. I have found that tool largely useless, this is the first time I've seen anyone actually find the problem with it!
Looks like she got hot, was it touching exhaust?

Wires found shorted from selector switch to a connecter in the engine bay , still have to tear it open to see how far in it has shorted
