The rpm works when driving on the road. This pic was when the vehicle is off with key on.

While driving rpm moves correctly with dash reading. Target gear states unknown while driving doesn't change. Before it changed from 1 to 2 while taking off but now stuck at unknown.

Also verify brake lights are working I believe it was fuse #5 also has something to do with transmission and brake lights . Are there any abs related lights on?

P2503 and p2232
the scanner shows brake light pressed and released so I guess it's working

I don't mean to come across as a jerk but put that scanner down and get your hands dirty. Verify brake lights are working just because the brake switch is working doesn't mean the lights are working. Check all the fuses . And if as strange as it sounds if the sensor has to big of a gap those sprinters won't shift so we need to know if any abs related lights are on . Also since you have an alternator code it would be a good idea to check your a.c. voltage to be sure your alternator isn't causing these problems

The code doesn't say alternator. Not sure why. There is no abs fault.

Oh huh that's nothing like what generic said those codes were! Guess I should have looked them up for the sprinter specific ... in that case if there's no and codes verify that all the sensors are reading while moving between 1 and 20 mph and none are dropping out if sensors check out then drop then you'll have to drop the transmission pan and inspect the valve body
