No start unless injector is unplugged.

1997 Dodge Dakota 5.2, auto, 2wd.
Engine cranks over as expected but no start. no Dtc's
number 1 spark plug wire was removed from the plug and spark tester installed, at the same time number 1 injector was unplugged and noid light installed, cranked the engine, it started. (had spark and illumination from testers. what, shut the engine off, reconnect plug wire and injector, no start, this time only the #1 injector was unplugged noid installed attempt start, engine started noid flashing, obviously engine skipping, engine still running remove noid plugged injector back in, engine stayed running running smooth, shut engine off attempt start, no start unplugged injector attempt start engine started, shut engine off, attempt restart engine started (injector still unplugged) restarted multiple time. plug injector back in, no start no start.
repeatable.
like the subject says, no start unless the injector is unplugged.

Will the engine start with any injector unplugged, or just #1?

Hi Tyler,

My apologies for not taking "my" diagnostic testing further to include that test.
I will be away from that vehicle until next week, will perform testing with other injectors and post findings.
