Trunk mount battery old MOPAR ?? was created by 69chargermd
Battery is currently in the trunk. Positive cable runs from battery to starter lug.
Concerned about having hot cable running length of the car at all times.
What can be done to address this ?
Some type of solenoid set up in the trunk so that cable is hot only during cranking ?
Any help in how to wire this type of setup ?
Thanks.
(Ps; electrical knowledge is limited). Thx

Nice garage! I'm pretty sure today's chargers and challengers put the battery back there.
I'm not aware of any isolation device used by OE's that have the battery in the rear of the vehicle from the factory.
I have seen "racecars" with a big old manual ON-OFF switch somewhere around the rear bumper, trunk pan area. If I was worried about the power wire running under my car, that's probably what I would use.

Thx Noah. I have seen kill switch’s or on off switch’s on race applications. I probably need to look into that.
Was curious what all is intailed in that type of install.

Battery disconnect switch is the cheap and easy way to do what you want. They attach to the battery neutral post.
