Ford fault code P2636 1.6 Ecoboost was created by Beefyeamon
Hi Dan, I watched a recent video of you diagnosing a Ford Fusion with the 1.5 GDi engine, I currently have a similar issue with my 2014 Ford Focus 1.6 Ecoboost, i believe the injection systems are similar to that of the 1.5 model, The only fault code I have is P2636 which is triggered by the low pressure fuel pressure sensor located on the fuel line between the low pressure and High pressure pump, The sensor reading seems to hover between 1.5 volts to a peak of 2.85 volts, I have tested the fuel pressure and it indicates around 60-65 PSI on engine idle and increases to 70 psi on wide open throttle,I have so far replaced the fuel pump control module, the in-tank fuel pump, the low pressure fuel pressure sensor, the high pressure pump, the high pressure rail sensor and 4 new fuel injectors and still no change,The fuel pump duty percentage is around the 50% mark and increases to 85% at wide open throttle, I have tested the fuel pressure sensor circuit and i can see the 5v reference and the 1.5 volt to 2.8 volt on the signal side of the senior which matches what the PCM is seeing, I have checked for poor earth and power connections with PCM and fuel pressure sensor all seems ok,I performed a voltage drop test between battery and fuel pump and seems to be around the .425 volt mark which seems normal as it's less than .5 volt .I also checked the earth and was measured around .1volt, The parts I have not replaced so far is the Body control module or the power train control module, also to note while replacing the fuel pump I did not check for any sediment on the bottom of the fuel tank or a fuel line blockage but I would think this would cause the pressure to drop less than 60 psi? The car will start and drive but currently has bad misfires during acceleration from 2000-3000rpm or higherIs there anything I have missed here, any help would be greatly appreciated ,Thanks again in advance
