Replaced leaky water pump, doing steps in reverse of removal and all that, but I cannot for the life of me remember where this goes (see part on magnetic pan on pic). This was, to my recollection, one of the first parts I took off. Any guidance appreciated! Thx Pop

Thats a brace, in the same style as the one on the alt. So most likely connects from the alt bottom/back to the manifold or block.
