Mercedes SCN and Calibration was created by mediapirate
Hello, I have a 2011 E63 with a faulty ISM I sent another ISM from a donor 722.9 from same year and model to have virginized. My shop doesn't want to SCN and re-calibrate so I'm thinking I'll buy a scanner to do it myself. I've been working on cars for 30 years as a side hobby and I'm an electronics major so the idea of programming the ISM doesn't bother me the problem is I don't know which tool to buy. I'm leaning towards the Launch X431 V+ Pro as I believe that will do everything I need, but it may be overkill. I don't plan on using this on any other vehicles and I'm not a FT mechanic, if there's a less expensive tool which will do what I need then I'm happy to go no your advice. Thanks! MP

The ISM must be done with SCN Online coding unless someone has found a way to do offline. Not sure if there's a "less expensive" way but here is what I use.

Autel with J2534 interface, one must have an active subscription to perform SCN coding through their cloud system.

A 2nd method is a flat fee of $89 per each SCN coding from mbstartool.com. For this you must have the MB star diag scanner.
