Parasitic drains are such a pain after the last time I dd one I decided to collect the parts together to make a tool up but never actually out it together -- after Paul's most recent Premium Video

I screwed the parts together.
Note exactly rocket science most it was salvaged from an old battery booster pack and the junk pile. Obviously if you want to make one you can use what you have availablr locally or simplify or make more refined.
The battery master switch salvage from the booster pack is probably a bit too low a rating particulary with a larger engine or diesel.

That's a great idea, Andy! Nice work!
I've had a bunch of tools that I've wanted to build over the years, but then I get out there, get busy, and they all get shelved "until next time" .. which never comes, lol.
20 years ago I built a shunt for checking amperage on the mV scale, without the danger of nuking the meter, or blowing a fuse. Compared to in-line amp testing, it was pretty accurate (at least up to 10A). When I finally get an amp-clamp some day, I'll have to compare the 2 and see just how accurate it really is. Haven't used it in a while. She ain't pretty, but works pretty good!
Looks like the 20 year old electrical tape is due for replacement ...
