Does anything available today have the wide range of connectivity to pre-obd2 vehicles than the MT2500? aka the red brick from snapon?

The Modis and Verus (at least the first couple generations) should go back to around the late 80's with the appropriate cables and adapters.

Our latest and greatest Zeus at work goes back to 1980. As do my Verus Edge and original Modis. You just need the proper OBDI adapters. You can buy an older scanner if you want to save money. Most people are focused on how new a car they work on. They all go back to 1980 and the ones with scopes have some more functionality you can use on earlier cars. Like an ignition scope, those are useful on any engine that uses spark ignition.
