I noticed the US store sells the D1 for about $570. Other websites that claim to be authorized sell it for a $100 less. Any differences?  Anything to watch out for if I buy from the cheaper places?

I bought mine from Amazon and have not had any issues with it. Price is around what you quoted in your post.
