Laptop for OEM/Pico was created by Archer
Hello everyone,

I tried to use the search bar but wasn’t able to find anything regarding laptop recommendations for OEM software. I work at a Toyota dealer, so GTS+ would be used daily but I also work on several other manufacturers regularly.

This would also double as my go-to for the oscilloscope. My shop has a Pico 4424? kit from Toyota that I use a few times a week.

Any recommendations?

Thank you,
Sean

Get something with at least 8Gb, better 16Gb RAM.The OE programs I know/use are not that resource demanding but Pico can be. The dealer pico would not work on other makes. It is locked to the specific dealer software.

I’ve used the dealer Pico on several domestics and with Pico 6 and 7. I was using work laptops and just uploaded the software, but I did have trouble trying to connect the scope to a couple of different laptops that were not from work.

I thought it was just a limitation of the other laptops, but maybe it’s what you’re referring to?

When I booted up the Pico software on my (older) personal laptops, the scope showed up on the available devices list for a second or two and then disappeared.
