1996 Chevy Van G1500 5.7L Computer Problems. This was a common problem on the early General Motors full size G vans and Astro vans. They mounted the computer right below the brake master cylinder and they suffered from water intrusion. This was caused by a failure of the steel bolts that held the two halves of the aluminum computer housing together. Knowing the circuit design of this MAF sensor was the key to proper diagnosis of a bad engine computer.
